About

Engineer, storyteller, and curious mind navigating what's next.

I'm Josh Murzello — raised in Suwanee, Georgia, now a senior at Georgia Tech pursuing mechanical engineering with a computer science minor. Whether I'm prototyping new ideas (breaking things) or working on a youtube video, I'm obsessed with learning by building and sharing the process along the way.

The mix of engineering, creativity, and community.

Every chapter at Georgia Tech has been about blending disciplines — pairing rigorous engineering with design, storytelling, and people-first leadership. Toggle through the focus areas that shape how I work.

Engineering that starts with curiosity.

From building an electric skateboard from scratch to experimenting with brain-computer interfaces, I chase projects that demand both analytical thinking and messy prototyping. I learn fastest when I'm pushing components across a workbench and iterating in the real world.

  • Mechanical Engineering major, Computer Science minor @ Georgia Tech
  • Research into EEG-driven input systems and human-computer interaction
  • Internship experience spanning EV hardware, HVAC innovation, and manufacturing

Visual storytelling as a second language.

Photography and film started as a hobby and quickly became a studio. I document the energy of cities, capture portraits with character, and publish edits that feel like micro films. Every creative project feeds back into how I see engineering problems — both are about shaping experiences.

  • Built a growing visual portfolio shooting lifestyle, portrait, and travel stories
  • Lead Murzello Studios, collaborating with local talent on branded shoots
  • Mixing design, typography, and motion into digital experiences (like this site)

Community keeps everything grounded.

The best projects happen with people. At Tech, that means guiding campus tours as a Student Ambassador, captaining a nationally competitive Bollywood fusion dance team, and saying yes to new experiences — from pickleball tournaments to spontaneous road trips.

  • GT Student Ambassador: connecting students, alumni, and future Yellow Jackets
  • Captain of a nationally ranked Bollywood fusion dance team
  • Always down for the next big energy moment — travel, food, skydiving, you name it

Foundation
Georgia roots & endless tinkering
Grew up in Suwanee, GA taking things apart, building new ones, and staying outside until the lights came on. That curiosity (and a few broken devices) set the tone for engineering life.
Campus life
Georgia Tech immersion
Mechanical engineering by day, creative studio by night. Along the way I discovered the thrill of mixing hard tech with storytelling, and the power of communities that push you forward.
Hands-on
Projects that stretch disciplines
Electric skateboard builds, BCI prototypes, EV engineering internships, and more. Each project sharpened the feedback loop between idea, build, and share.
What’s next
Keep exploring, keep shipping
Looking ahead to roles where engineering, design, and storytelling overlap — while exploring the world, meeting new collaborators, and building unforgettable experiences.

Outside of the lab and lens.

These are the spaces that recharge me and inspire the next ideas.

Movement + Competition

Pickleball matches, late night dance rehearsals, spontaneous hikes — I chase anything that demands energy and team chemistry.

Travel + Culture

New cities, unfamiliar foods, and the stories people tell along the way. Travel keeps my creative and engineering instincts honest.

Sandbox Projects

Weekend prototyping, cinematic edits for friends, experimental product ideas — a sandbox for testing what's possible.

Currently exploring.

I'm focusing on opportunities that let me blend engineering rigor with creative direction. If you're building something that needs both, let's talk.

  • Brain-computer interface experimentation & signal processing
  • Expanding Murzello Studios into full-scale brand storytelling
  • Documenting travels through photo essays and short-form film
